The children of Albert Edward Maley and Mary Lucy (nee Deely)

john Lawrence Maley

1. John (Jack) Lawrence Maley was born on 22 November 1909 at Boulder. Worked on his father’s farm at Wongoondy. Enlisted in the Australian Army on 9 April 1941 and joined the 2/2 Australian Independent Company and sent to Timor. Later transferred to the 2/2 Commando Squadron. Killed on 12 August 1943 whilst fighting in New Guinea and buried in the War Cemetery at Lae. Awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Pacific Star, the War Medal 1939-45 and the Australian Service Medal.


Roy Henry Lawrence Maley 2. Roy Henry Lawrence (Larry) Maley was born on 24 March 1916 at Fremantle. On 28 January 1941 he married Alice Veronica McAuliffe (b.1921) at Mullewa. Children: William Lawrence, Veronica Ann, Glenys Mary, Carmel Therese, John Francis, Philip James & Bernard Andrew. Larry died on 2 July 1990 at Narrogin.


Albert Lawrence Maley 3. Albert (Bill) Lawrence Maley was born on 1 March 1918 at Meckering. Labourer in Three Springs in 1941/1942. Enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force on 21 June 1942. Leading Aircraftman in the RAAF's 58 Operational Base Unit during World War II and discharged on 6 June 1946. Married Francis Mary Wright. Labourer in Three Springs 1946-1950 and later a farmer in Three Springs. Adopted 2 Children, Rohan & Pauline. Retired to live in Balcatta. Died 1 June 1987; buried Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Perth.
