Central Greenough Historical Settlement
Just down the Brand Highway 4.5km south of the Greenough Pioneer Museum, nestled on a small rise, is the Central Greenough Historic Settlement which has been preserved by the National Trust of Australia (W.A.) for people like yourself to walk around to see and feel the village life of the pioneers.
There is an excellent restaurant there for a rest and a great meal should you need a break. The Central Greenough Historic Settlement was the centre of social and business life for the farmers, local citizens and workers. The
court house and prison can be seen there along
with the Hall, Roads Board Office, Convent, Anglican and Catholic churches and 2 schools.
Walkaway Station Museum
Over at Walkaway is the Railway Station Museum housed in an impressive two-storey former railway station built in 1886. The museum features an extensive collection of railway artefacts, military relics and local history. The museum is open Monday - Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday 1pm-4pm. 3 Museums Ticket

Buy a combined ticket and save. For only $21.00 a ticket can be purchased to allow access of 2 adults (plus children) to the Greenough Pioneer Museum, the Central Greenough Historical Settlement and the Walkaway Station Museum. The 3 Museums tickets are for sale at each of these venues and the Visitors Centre.
W. A. Museum Geraldton
In the city of Geraldton itself, there is the Western Australia Museum Geraldton in the marina. Its themes are based on the Mid West region and Dutch shipwrecks (especially the Batavia). Also watch out for their special exhibitions.

Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage
Also don't forget to visit the Geraldton Historical Society's other museum. The Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage is located on Chapman Road, Bluff Point. Built in the 1870s, the Cottage houses a historic photographic collection, maps, research library and temporary displays. The museum is open Monday - Friday 10am-3pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm.
Irwin District Museum
Located in the Old Police Station, Courthouse & Gaol in Waldeck Street, Dongara, this museum has displays on the history of the Irwin District.
Also in Dongara, in St Dominic's Road, is Russ Cottage. This cottage, built in 1870 by Titus Russ depicts the lifestyle of an earlier era.
